So, we have created characters.
The game starts in Locmill, a small town in the mountains, straddling a river. It is situated primarily on a hill, down which the river flows. Many many years ago, a lumber mill was built here, taking avantage of the river to power the mill. Over time, as trade routes to and from the town became more established, Locks were designed and built on the river, to facilitate boat traffic up and down the river. There is a family of Naiad who live on this section of the river with whom the Earl of Locmill maintains good relations.
The river is the long accepted boundary marker for the local Dwarf (Widdershins side) and Gnome (Turnwise side) kingdoms. As such, the town and surrounding area is an Earldom unto itself, but the Gnome and Dwarf King negotiate very carefully as to whom to appoint to this post.
In addition to the river traffic, there are a number of land routes the come through the town. Halfling caravans are a frequent sights, making regular trading forays into the town.
So much trade passes through the town that the majority of the people who live there are craftsmen and tradesment, of all kinds. The lumber mill still runs, with careful negotiations with the dryads in the forests further up the mountains.
Hubwise of the town, the mountains become steeper and more forested. Rimwise, the mountains become foothills, and then on to the plains, where farms and cities have grown.
The river flows between two mountains, from a large lake several miles upstream. There are roads and routes through and around the mountains, maintained and patrolled by Halflings as well as the Dwarf and Gnomes whose kingdoms they are in. Bridges are maintained by agreement between the two kingdoms.
Of dangers. The forests are home to many large animals. Boars and Bears are the largest predators native to the area. Some of these hunting expeditions return victorious, others do not. Some never return at all. Dryads live in the forest, maintaining overtly polite relationships with the city. Some people have said there are Satyr in the deep woods, though this is not confirmed. Rumors also tell of the Mountain King, an old and venerable Treant who lives high on the mountain, deep in the woods.
Goblins were once a pervasive problem, raiding the caravans and making forays into the town to burn and pillage. They are still seen, occasionally, but have not been a major problem in many years. By the same token, Kobolds are a known threat, but have just not been seen in any significant numbers for many years.

First Game
Does anyone have an issue with the first game being here on the hill, September 25th, starting at 1pm?
Cats will be banished and vacuuming will take place in preparation.
And so it begins
This is a blog for the Pathfinder Game I will be running on Alternate Sundays from my home. House rules, announcements, background information and whatever else comes to mind will be posted here. I recommend watching this space if you are playing. If you are just curious about how much trouble I can get into, running a game for four dear friends who are hardcore gamers for the purposes of laughing at me, that's cool too.
